I worked as an Instructional Assistant for the Social Welfare 100 the semesters of Spring 2019 and Spring 2020. My duties included grading, responding, and reaching out to the group of 20 students I oversaw. I was also given the opportunity to assist in content creation for the course, where I updated the LGBTQ+ section in the curriculum by sharing relevant videos and articles.

This is not only the introductory course for this major, but is a class that students from other domains take to fulfill their Global Perspective requirement.

By taking this class myself, I have valuable insight from my own experiences of course engagement and completing the assignments, making me a great resource for students. This experience has given me a solid foundation into assistance teaching, which is something I plan to do during my graduate school career.
