SPARC Internship

My time at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire has allowed me to pursue multiple opportunities, which currently consists of my internship within UWEC's suicide prevention program.

My role as the SPARC intern is to create and distribute multimedia messaging around suicide prevention and mental health. I also implement promotional products and activities to encourage students to utilize campus and national resources. Part of my job has also been to bring more students into the Rest Nest on campus, which is a relaxation space that focuses on self-care. Through tabling events and special activity days, I have helped encourage the general population of students to spend time in the Rest Nest, while also targeting specific student groups (i.e. nursing students).

Under the guidance and collaboration of Dr. Jennifer Muehlenkamp, I am provided the information and research-based prevention strategies to foster a safer environment at the UWEC campus.
